Pride Water Polo Challenge

In July 2017, 11 members of the newly formed White Pointers recently headed to Queensland to compete in the Pride Cup alongside the Brisbane Tritons, Sydney Stingers, and Melbourne Surge.

The guys played two matches and really enjoyed the competition and meeting the other teams, as well as learning an awful lot more about the game.

There was a great feeling that the Pride Cup is now encompassing all of Australia with the formation of the White Pointers this year and the Brisbane Tritons last year.

Pride Cup

The Pride Cup is part of the national water polo leagues (NWPL) calendar and is hosted by a national league water polo team every year during one of the national league rounds.

The Pride Cup has been trailblazed by Water Polo Victoria, in conjunction with the Melbourne Surge, and has celebrated being played in Brisbane.

In 2017, ahead of the NWPL Pride Cup clash, the first ever All-Stars Pride Shield match took place.  The Brisbane Tritons, Melbourne Surge, Sydney Stingers Waterpolo, along with one development team member from the Brisbane Barracudas and Queensland Breakers formed two All-Stars teams who played for the newly created Pride Shield.
